SKIN HEALTH & HYDRATION WITH PROFHILO HAENKENIUM

Our skin health solutions utilise a number of modalities, including hybrid therapies that hydrate the skin, add vitamins, naturally boost collagen and elastin, while changing the structure and function of the skin to make it stronger and healthier.  Suitable for face, chest, neck and hands.

WHY STIMULATE HEALTHY SKIN CELLS?

Our experienced clinicians provide consultations for patients who notice that their skin has become thinner, more lined, dry or dull as they age into their 30s, 40s and beyond – and who are looking for a minimally invasive, sustainable way to improve their skin’s cellular function. Our treatment options are supported by quality skin products such as the Profhilo Haenkenium, adding hydration and vitamins above and below the skin’s surface. While boosting collagen and elastin levels, our treatments subtly refine sun damaged skin on the face, neck, hands and décolletage.

What makes hydration & collagen so important?

Collagen and hydration play pivotal roles in the ageing process of the skin, significantly impacting its appearance, texture and overall health. As we age, our skin undergoes natural physiological changes, including a gradual decline in collagen production and a reduction in moisture levels. Understanding the significance of collagen and hydration in skin ageing is essential for implementing effective cosmetic skin treatment strategies and maintaining a healthy complexion.

Collagen, the most abundant protein in the body, serves as the structural foundation of the skin, providing strength, firmness, and elasticity. However, as we age, the synthesis of collagen diminishes, leading to a loss of structural support and resilience. This decline in collagen production contributes to common signs of ageing, such as fine lines, wrinkles, sagging and a loss of volume. Furthermore, exposure to environmental stressors such as UV radiation, pollution, and lifestyle factors like smoking can accelerate collagen breakdown, hastening the ageing process.

Hydration, on the other hand, is vital for maintaining skin health and vitality. Adequate hydration ensures that the skin remains plump, supple, and smooth, while also supporting essential physiological processes such as cell turnover and repair. However, ageing, along with external factors such as harsh weather conditions and poor skincare practices, can compromise the skin’s ability to retain moisture, leading to dryness, dullness, and an uneven texture. Dehydrated skin is more prone to fine lines, wrinkles, and a lackluster appearance, exacerbating the visible signs of ageing.

Together, collagen and hydration act synergistically to preserve the skin’s health and resilience. Collagen provides structural support, while hydration maintains optimal moisture levels, ensuring that the skin remains soft, smooth, and radiant. Incorporating skincare products and treatments that target collagen production and hydration can help mitigate the effects of ageing, promoting a healthier complexion and delaying the onset of wrinkles and other signs of skin ageing.

Our clinics offer numerous options to boost collagen production and enhance skin hydration. Additionally, adopting healthy lifestyle habits such as staying hydrated, eating a balanced diet rich in nutrients, protecting the skin from sun damage, and avoiding harmful habits like smoking can support overall skin health and slow down the ageing process.

How does it differ from other treatments?

Collagen stimulation and hydration boosting treatment options do not create facial structure or replicate facial volume. They focus on the skin and tissue just below the skin, to strengthen and plump.

How does it work?

Our treatments improve skin quality and promote skin resilience, triggering the body’s natural collagen induction process. Our clinical team has found that results are most notable to the patient themselves, sensing improvements such as firmness, hydration and skin strength. These begin to occur during the first 4-6 weeks after treatment, and continue to improve over the subsequent months.

The synergistic effect of combining two molecular weights of hyaluronic acid improves firmness and elasticity while soothing sensitive skin. The salvia haenkei extract slows the degradation of hyaluronic acid caused by free radicals and acts as a screen for free radicals.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS ABOUT
COLLAGEN STIMULATING & HYDRATION THERAPIES

Is there any downtime after treatments?

Downtime is minimal. You may have some lumps and redness immediately after the procedure.

Can multiple areas be done at the same time?

Yes. Multiple areas are often treated at the same time.

Common areas are the face, neck, decolletage and hands.

Can numbing cream be applied?

As these treatments are quite superficial, most patients find it very tolerable. Patients can opt to have topical anaesthetic gel applied.

What should I do prior to treatment?

  • Avoid taking aspirin, NSAIDS, anticoagulant drugs, Gingo Biloba, garlic, flax oil, cod liver oil, Vitamin A, Vitamin E and any other essential fatty acids in the week before the treatment. This helps to reduce bruising.
  • On the day of your treatment do not use make up, lotions, creams, serums, self-tanners or any other products on the areas to be treated.
  • Do not use wax, bleach, use depilatory creams or have electrolysis for 4 weeks prior to treatment.
  • Avoid chemicals peels, facials, laser and microdermabrasion for 2 weeks prior to treatment of the same area.
  • Avoid unprotected natural and artificial sun exposure of the area for 2 weeks for best results. A broad spectrum sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or higher is recommended.

Are maintenance treatments recommended?

Yes, as the product is not permanent, to maintain your results we recommend booking a maintenance treatment every 3-6 months. Re-treating within this time frame has a cumulative anti-ageing effect, effectively providing ongoing support for your skin to fight the signs of skin ageing.

Further information

Before having this treatment, please consider your expectations, and whether they can be realistically achieved by minimally invasive treatments, and within your budget. Sometimes multiple treatments are required to achieve the desired results; as everyone’s body deals with cosmetic treatments differently. We are not always able to predict how your body will respond, and patients accept this risk if they proceed. The clinic does not enter into discussions for discounted additional treatments if this is required. Detailed, written aftercare information is provided to patients on the day of their treatment.
