Emily brings a skilled and energetic approach to her clinical care of patients before, during and after surgery with Dr Sharp.

With over nine years of perioperative surgical nursing experience in some of Australia’s largest hospitals, she is a warm and compassionate advocate for her patients and an adept theatre assistant to Dr Sharp.

Emily’s expertise spans across various roles within the perioperative setting, including circulating and instrument nurse, clinical nurse, central sterilisation unit nurse, unit manager, perioperative nurse surgical assistant and perioperative nurse practitioner candidate.

Emily’s previous experience as a surgical assistant to many Brisbane surgeons, as well as time spent in urological robotic surgery and skin cancer management has enabled her to develop comprehensive perioperative healthcare skills, including pre-operative assessment, intraoperative surgical assisting, post-operative care planning, education, wound care, pain management, and outpatient follow-ups.

“I am passionate about delivering culturally safe care that empowers patients and their caregivers. I aim to contribute to improved patient experiences, clinical outcomes – and bridgethe gap between specialty practice and advanced nursing practice,” she says.

Emily practices from our South Brisbane clinic and assists Dr Sharp at Greenslopes Private Hospital and Southbank Day Hospital.
