Collagen Biostimulators

Stimulate your body’s own collagen production, to improve facial hollowing, sculpt the mid face and revolumise without using dermal fillers.

Biostimulator rejuvenation injections

What are biostimulating injections?

Our TGA approved biostimulating injections are a poly-L-lactic acid. It is indicated for use in people with healthy immune systems for the improvement of facial volume deficiencies.

Over time, our body breaks its collagen down, causing skin to lose fullness and elasticity. Our faces experience hollowing, folds and wrinkles. Collagen biostimulators trigger the natural process of collagen production, which replenishes volume and encourages your body to rebuild its own collagen over time.

This replenishing effect improves lines, wrinkles and folds gradually, giving way to a fresher, more rejuvenated appearance.

  • EExpect an improvement in skin hydration and laxity, as well as subtle firming effects.

How does it differ to other injectables?

Unlike muscle relaxing injections which reduce muscle activity, or dermal fillers which inject a gel like substance under the skin to add instant volume to an area, bioremodellers stimulate the body’s natural responses to produce more natural collagen, slowly and subtly revolumising from the inside out. They do not create facial structure, but can be combined with filler to achieve both diffuse and structured revolumisation.

How does it work?

When injected into the skin, it encourages a dynamic, multilevel skin remodelling from the inside out, improving skin quality and promoting skin restoration. Results are noticeable within the first month and continue to improve over the six months after treatment, offering long term results that build over time.

Are the injections safe? What are the risks?

Like all TGA regulated injectables products, this treatment carries risks. These risks should be carefully considered before undertaking treatment.

It should not be used by people that are allergic to any ingredient of the product or have a history of keloid formation or hypertrophic scarring. Safety has not been established in patients who are pregnant, lactating, breastfeeding, or under 18 years of age.

It has unique injection requirements and should only be used by a trained healthcare practitioner. Contour deficiencies should not be overcorrected because they are expected to gradually improve after treatment.

While all efforts are taken to ensure correct injection placement, sometimes injectables are placed in vessels. If accidentally injected into the blood vessels, it may cause vascular occlusion, infarction or embolic phenomena. Use at the site of skin sores, cysts, pimples, rashes, hives or infection should be postponed until healing is complete. It is not injected into peri-oral (mouth) or peri-orbital (eye) area.

In some cases more serious adverse events have been reported. These reported reactions include papules/nodules/lumps, swelling, granuloma (inflammation of tissue forming a lump), symptoms of visual disturbance, infection/abscess, mass/induration, numbness and facial nerve paralysis, redness, inflammation, bruising/haematoma, skin discolouration, scarring, skin atrophy (reduction in skin tissue) or skin hypertrophy (increase in skin tissue), allergic reaction, rash, muscle disorders and ischaemia necrosis.
